Maroon Bells – Campground Questions

Yes, there are three campgrounds in the Maroon Bells Scenic Area: Silver Bar, Silver Queen, and Silver Bell. A reservation is required to camp at all three, and reservations are released 6 months in advance on Recreation.gov (click the campground for more details).
Want to camp on July 6th through the 8th? You will need a reservation for January 6th, the first day, and then select the number of days you want.

Campground campsites are $15 per night.
Yes, a $10 car pass is required in addition to the camping fee, and will be collected as you enter the area. The car pass gives you unrestricted access to your campsite and the Maroon Bells Scenic Area.
Your season pases will cover the $10 entrance fee (per vehicle), but not the campground fees.
No, you cannot camp in the parking lot, camping is only allowed in designated sites within a campground.
Yes, campfires are allowed in the campsite’s provided campfire ring. Keep in mind, during certain times of the year, campfires may be prohibited due to fire bans.
All food, beverages, trash, and scented items must be properly stored when not attended. Bear-proof food lockers are provided at each site, and bear-proof trash receptacles are provided at the campground.
You do not need to provide your own bear proof canisters when camping in the campgrounds.
Campsites are limited to 8 people and 2 tents that fit within the defined footprint of the campsite. You may not expand the campsite into the surrounding vegetation.
